Description
Glomus tumors are rare benign neoplasm that originate
from the neuromyoarterial apparatus, the glomus body.
Glomus tumors had been recognized by William Wood1 in
1812, as painful subcutaneous nodules, but only in 1924,
Masson2 correctly interpreted the origin and the distinct
histopathologic characteristics of the glomus tumor. We
review the literature, anatomy of the nail bed and the glomus
body.
