Description
Background
We present a case of cutaneous metastases from an
epiglottic carcinoma.A review of the literature shows
cutaneous involvement in 2.8%to 8.2%of cases of
laryngeal cancer with distant metastases.Skin metastasis,
when present,was the first sign of distant spread in 61%of
the cases reviewed.There presence indicates a poor prognosis,
with average survival less than one year.
Conclusion
This case and review highlights the need make a careful
search for the presence of cutaneous metastases.
