Description
Based on the guidelines from the Royal College of Surgeons
of England, previous studies had suggested the use of a structured
operation record & format. A postal questionnaire survey
of clinicians, regarding the structured operation record &
format, revealed that a third of the respondents had used
a structured format satisfactorily. Another third would like
to use the circulated format, and the remainder preferred
only the second page of the circulated sample or no form at
all, for various reasons. We also discuss the advantages of
the structured format and the other features of a good operation
record. This study reveals that the popularity of a structured
format is on the increase.
