The 12th Annual Meeting of the Association of Otolaryngologists in Training was held on 2nd-4th September 1999 at the Rembrandt Hotel in London. Following on from an excellent meeting in Nottingham last year there was some concern that the cost of a meeting in London may be beyond the scope of the A.O.T. finances especially in a year when the BACO meeting had already used up much of the pharmaceutical and equipment manufacturers’ sponsorship allocations. I speak for all committee members in saying yes it was difficult raising sufficient sponsorship, but, in the end, persistence pays dividends. In all we attracted twenty-one companies, although two failed to attend on the day, and unfortunately one of the equipment manufacturers found that its display was detained in Birmingham!
