Description
This issue of Radiology update brings a real variety of topical issues
in Clinical Radiology. PET CT is very much a growth area of
Imaging in the UK, with the number of installations and studies
arising. The PET CT article gives a useful overview of PET CT,
introducing its current applications and requirements for practising PET
CT. Apart from the stunning images the cutting edge review of
Volumetric CT of the tracheobronchial tree give some really important
dose saving tips. Continuing the theme of cutting edge Radiology, the
article on endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms reminds us
that the coiling of intracranial aneurysms is now the primary treatment.
There is interesting discussion on the dilemma of management of
asymptomatic aneurysms.
We have a timely reminder that musculoskeletal tuberculosis has not
gone away. Finally, there is a most useful article on paediatric
gastrointestinal emergencies. Part 1 in this issue deals with upper GI
emergencies. Part 2 has been saved the next issue of Radiology Update.
If any of you are budding authors we welcome proposals for future
articles. Please send your suggestions in the form of an abstract and
article outline to RILA publications admin@rila.co.uk for
consideration by the Editorial Board.
