Description
The physical and engineering principles as well as the
clinical utility of the endoscopic technique of Narrow Band
Imaging (NBI) are reviewed, based on currently available
investigative data. The use of NBI in the detection of
Barretts oesophagus and Barretts associated neoplasia in
the upper gastrointestinal tract is described. In addition,
this review covers the use of NBI in the detection of colonic
adenomas and the surveillance of ulcerative colitis patients
for neoplastic lesions.
