Description

Following the highly informative ‘Question time’ session at this years BSG, where Rodney Burnham told us that the long-forecast man power crisis hadn’t taken place but that if senior trainees didn’t apply for every job advertised after their 6 months grace was up then steps would be taken, the Annual General Meeting of TiGs voted replacement reps for the Midlands (John Jones, University Hospital Nottingham) and the North East (Pete Moncur, St James, Leeds) as well as a First Year rep, Mathis Heydtmann (Good Hope Hospital., Sutton Coldfield). The existing members of the committee are; Andy Fraser (Scotland/N. Ireland); John Green (Wales); Philip Haigh (Year 2/ London); Sam Khulusi (N. West); Paul Mullins (S. West); Simon Smale (S. East) and me. Ideas from the floor which include setting up of a TiGs web-site and a database for trainees who want to job swap mill be tackled by the committee over the next months.

Wyeth have kindly agreed to three extra meetings this year, but due to the small numbers registered to attend the Manchester meeting ‘Lawyers and how to avoid them’ previously booked for April 14 has been postponed until Tuesday 21 September- So no excuses – book that study leave.

The remaining two days; ‘Gaining and using resources’ in Bristol on June 24 and ‘Are you being assertive? London on 26 May remain in place with spaces still available at time of going to press.

Read and enjoy this issue’s contributions and dont be reticent about sending me more copy.
