Description
A 52 year old man had previously undergone
total laryngectomy for squamous cell carcinoma.
Whilst cleaning the Groningen voice prosthesis he
managed to accidentally drop the cleaning brush
(Figure 1) into the trachea. He presented as an
emergency with dyspnoea and distress. A chest x-ray
revealed the brush to be impacted in the right
mainbronchus (Figure 2).
