A More Palatable Diagnosis

Description

A 74 year old gentleman presented with a rapidly growing swelling of his hard palate ( Figure 1 ). He had been referred via casualty as it was bleeding. The patient attributed it to a period when he had post nasal drip and had made his palate sore by constantly clearing his throat. Endoscopic examination of the nasal cavity was clear. The raw area was cauterised with silver nitrate and the lesion was excised under General Anaesthesia.
