Description
A 74 year old woman was referred to the TIA clinic following a sudden onset of difficulty in speech and confusion. Her capillary blood sugar was 3.0 mmol. Her symptoms resolved following correction of hypoglycaemia. There was no previous history of stroke, cardiac illness or malignancy. She did have a prior history of Type II diabetes, hypothyroidism and chronic airways disease. Blood tests including full blood count, renal function, serum calcium, ALP and thyroid function were all within normal limits. A CT head scan was requested.
