A case of anaemia

Description

A 60 year old man with a long standing history of recurrent anaemia was noted to have a Hb of 11.2 g/dl, a reticulocyte count of 456 x109/l and a total bilirubin of 204 l. On clinical examination he had massive splenomegaly. His blood film and chest radiograph are shown in Figures 1 and 2 respectively.
