Central loss of vision through Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the commonest cause of legal blindness in the UK. Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) has now become the accepted treatment for a proportion of the exudative or ‘wet ’ form of the disease. PDT aims to stabilise the condition therefore maintaining quality of life.
