Description
The mainstay treatment for amblyopia is occlusion therapy of the fellow eye by an opaque patch. The effectiveness of this treatment has recently been questioned in a systematic review of vision screening. This article has stimulated much research into this issue, with current research including dose-response studies and randomised controlled trials. This article aims to highlight all the available treatments for amblyopia, and discuss the methodology of current trends and future interventions, as well as highlighting current research into amblyopia treatment.
