Description

A 70 year old female presented with a history of increasing shortness of breath over a number of years. A previous chest radiograph (not shown) demonstrated large volume lungs with flattened hemidiaphragms. There was no previous history of asthma or exposure to inhaled toxins. The patient was a non-smoker. Investigations into her breathlessness included a CT scan of the chest (Figures 1, 2a and 2b).
