Description

There are several causes of low back pain (LBP). In a mechanical model, research has implicated pain sensitive vertebral structure such as the intervertebral disc and the zygapophyseal joints as potential sources of LBP. Irrespective of the actual source of symptoms, it has been shown that muscles are adversely affected secondary to LBP. This phenomenon is accepted at peripheral joints such as the knee.
