Description
In this article, we will describe the clinical features of systemic sclerosis, together with contemporary approaches to disease classification and
assessment. Current concepts of pathogenesis, including the potential roles of microchimerism and of oxidant stress will be considered and modern
management of scleroderma reviewed. Finally, future avenues of research, which may lead to better understanding and treatment of systemic sclerosis
are discussed.
