Description

The use of a personal computer (PC) is already commonplace within the medical workplace. Tasks performed routinely include word-processing, editing of slides for teaching using graphics packages, and data collection and analysis using spreadsheets and databases. In addition to these uses, there now exists an opportunity to use PCs to access information and resources on other computers around the world. In basic terms, this is all that the Internet represents. In this article, we give an overview of Internet uses, with regard to general and palliative medicine.
