Neuropathic Pain

Description

Neuropathic pain is one sub-type of pain which is predictably difficult to control. There is a large amount of published research data looking at different therapies for neuropathic pain, mostly in non-malignant pain syndromes (e.g. post herpetic neuralgia, trigeminal neuralgia). The two key issues for neuropathic pain in palliative care which these data do not answer are: which is the most rapidly effective regime and which regime has the most acceptable toxicity profile for patients debilitated by advanced malignant disease.
