Description

Surgical reconstruction of the sound conduction mechanism
of the middle ear remains one of the most difficult challenges
in otology. Many factors influence the functional results
including the status of the ossicular chain and the nature
of the disease process. Recent progress in the development
of middle ear prostheses has facilitated the achievement of
good functional results.
