Description
After my daily shower, I peruse two daily papers,
starting with the political and business news. I
sometimes enjoy reading the odd stories. Egypt has a
very rich culture and the social news is interesting.
My breakfast is light but the journey from Central
Cairo to ‘Jiza’, where the Pyramids of Jiza and Skkara
are located, is lengthy. Cairo is a bustling and busy
city with a population of about 17 million during the
day. It is also a city of great disparities where the ‘have’
and the ‘have nots’ are living side by side. But there
are many pockets of deprivation. Nevertheless,
people are optimistic and cheerful. Rapid economic
development is promising to improve many things
especially the standard of living of the poor.
