Description
A 36-year-old male presented with sinusitis symptoms,
along with some night sweating. He underwent antibiotic
treatment and fictional endoscopic sinus surgery with biopsy
of left ethmoidal polypoid tissue as a result. However, his
symptoms worsened, and he was admitted for further
investigation. He was noted have an ALT of 221 and an
ESR of 77 on admission. Liver investigations were
negative. Brain CT showed an opacification of left
ethmoidal and frontal sinuses, but no evidence of intracranial
pathology. After treatment with IV antibiotics his condition
improved, and he was sent home with out-patient follow-up.
His biopsy result subsequently showed evidence of Wegener’s
Granulomatosis.
