This edition leads with an excellent review on psychoses in old age by Jonathan Hewitt, followed by a complementary review on delirium by Rachel Stockdale. Feedback from the readership on the commissioned pieces in the psychogeriatric field has been very positive, hence these articles. There has been a renewed interest in chronic lymphatic leukaemia in recent years, with particular emphasis on prognostic indicators and the need to avoid unwarranted treatment in a proportion of cases, many of whom are elderly and frail. The paper on CLL in this addition addresses these issues in a scholarly yet succinct form; highly relevant CME for the geriatrician.

The CME series in going through a period of change with respect to CME accreditation. The Royal College of Physicians CME office removed the external CME recognition of all publications not under its direct control, including all the medical CME journals published by Rila. Please note, however, that this does not apply to internal or personal CME, for which the journals still count. The Royal Colleges of Surgeons and Pathologists have reinstated external CME for a number of CME journals after recognition by various specialist societies. Therefore, we are currently in discussion with the British Geriatrics Society to that effect. If the BGS is able to give this journal its approval we are likely to be able to offer external CME credits again in the near future, particularly as there appears to be a more reasonable view emerging at the College. I will keep readers informed; indeed, I expect we shall have resolved this problem by the next edition.
