Description
Cognitive problems are common in Parkinsons Disease
but may reflect co-existing pathologies that are also
increasingly prevalent in older age. Furthermore, given the
imprecision of ante-mortem diagnosis, it is important in any
discussion about the dementia of Parkinsons to also consider
the other neuropsychiatric problems that may occur in
Parkinsons; other dementias associated with Parkinsonism,
such as dementia with Lewy bodies, vascular dementia, and
Alzheimers-type dementia.
