Description
As with many endocrine disorders presenting with functional effects, the diagnosis of primary hyperparathyroidism is made using clinical biochemistry. However the management of these patients requires a joint approach between the histopathologist and surgeon. The determination of the presence of parathyroid tissue and assessment of the underlying pathology has a great influence on the management of these patients.
