Description
The appearance of the endometrium varies considerably during life and the menstrual cycle. This range of variation may itself account for a scanty sample. Plasma cells do not invariably indicate a clinically significant infection nor does their absence exclude it. Differences between the appearances seen on an endometrial biopsy and those expected may be accounted for by the method used to estimate the date of ovulation.
