Description
A 50-year-old female presented to us with blurred vision in both her eyes after she had a surgical procedure for perianal abscess drainage. The vision was decreased in both the eyes. Fundal examination revealed retinal and preretinal haemorrhages at both posterior poles centred on the macula. Investigations were done and no obvious systemic cause was found. We presume that the findings are consistent with retinal haemorrhages following the use of anaesthesia. The patient has made full recovery with no residual effects. A review of the case with discussion has been presented.
