Description

Acoustic neuromas (vestibular schwannomas) usually present with progressive cranial nerve involvement, and in late cases, symptoms and signs of raised intracranial pressure. Unilateral perceptive hearing loss may be the only symptom for many years. A case where delayed diagnosis of acoustic neuroma was arrived at after investigation of papilloedema is reported.
