Description
This journal has been circulated free to core hospital specialists so far. The response to the style and editorial content has been extremely positive and we are very grateful for the essential part that you the readers have played in this success. Considerable financial resources have been allocated to kick start, underpin, and establish the title.
The educational remit has been well fulfiled and the CME/CPD credits loop is now increasingly popular. Some regions have started using the published titles, with the MCQ loop, as core reading of a mandatory nature for their SPRs.
Our own research and discussion with editors of some of the titles indicates that many clinicians, senior and trainee alike, are prepared to run the expense of subscribing to a relevant title. In some regions the Clinical Tutor or Director of Medical Education has reimbursed either the subscription and/or the cost of the MCQ loop.
It is planned to have all titles, including this one, on the Internet, by March 2000 with added value features, e.g. on line assessment, chat boxes, subspecialty fora etc. This should facilitate dissemination to a wider readership in Europe and world-wide.
We are also pleased to let our readers know that CPD Bulletin Cellular Pathology has been submitted for inclusion in a number of citation indexes. This has been primarily driven by the extremely positive feedback on the quality and value of the editorial content. This process is rather protracted as the committees considering inclusion usually meet only once or twice every 12 months. As soon as any news is available we shall inform you. We hope to have a successful outcome.
The journal becomes subscription based with the first issue of 2000. A subscription form for your use is available on page 173.
We hope that this provides you with an update on how we are looking to future developments in your specialty title and trust that you will consider taking out a subscription to this successful journal now.
