Description
Abstract
Methotrexate is a drug that has been used for the last 50 years in the treatment of psoriasis. Its major side effect is liver toxicity and monitoring of liver function is mandatory while patients are taking this drug. Assays for procollagen III n-peptide have altered our monitoring of patients, obviating the need for routine liver biopsy. In this review, the indications for, pretreatment evaluations, monitoring and drug interactions are discussed.
