Description
Invest in Yourself – Start Distance Learning
Our Teachers and their teaching, our clinical experience. the quality of what we read and, less open to change, our own intellect, are all factors which influence the quality of the professional advice we give patients and the decisions we make in their care. Retaining new information which is relevant to clinical practice becomes more difficult as the number of our brain cells falls with time. Conventional ways of learning include reading journals and attending meetings. but how much is retained after these activities? How many relevant facts can you remember from the last meeting you attended or the last three journals you read? It is revealing if you try to write down what you can remember just a week after these activities.
Distance Learning is different! It takes more effort, but the rewards will soon become apparent to you. The mental process of reading selected articles and then answering questions which relate to specific points brought out by these questions aid the retention of useful facts and clinical strategies to be retained. Why not try it and see.
Distance Learning complements Instructional Sessions and visiting Departments as an effective method for obtaining a return for the time that you have put into your education, so that both you and your patients can get the most out of your continuing education.
