This classic volume by three doyens of surgical voice
restoration (SVR), provides a chronicle of one of the major
developments in delivering quality of life to
laryngectomised patients.
This volume provides not only a history of
development, but a practical toolkit on how to assess,
instigate and problem manage SVR. The chapters on
botulinum toxin, tracheostomal valves and humidity and
moisture exchangers provide a current perspective for
usage, as well as detail on a range of supplier’s equipment.
A slight downside in the valve chapter is the absence of
alluding to other manufacturers products, the latter would
have completed the ideal reference volume for anyone
delivering SVR.
