Building a positive writing culture

Author(s): T Albert

Description

Over the past two decades or so a curious culture has arisen which has made the writing of scientific papers inseparable from being considered a ‘good doctor’. The task is not an easy one: first you have to find enough material for a paper that is ‘new, original and important’; then you have to transform this material into a coherent piece of two or three thousand words; then you have to expose it to the scrutiny of a board of expert reviewers; then, if the article is judged good enough, it will be accepted by a journal, though usually on condition that some amendments are made.
