Description
Dear Sir,
We enjoyed reading Majeeds article on adapting routine information systems to meet the needs of primary care groups (PCGs). He has presented clearly some of the difficulties that will cause (and, indeed, are already causing) problems in the provision of accurate information to PCGs. Majeed has focused in his article mainly on the implications of the new structures for resource allocation. This is certainly of concern to Public Health practitioners, but the problems of PCG information will also have important implications for health needs assessment, another major concern for Public Health.
