Description
Sudden cardiac death, not caused by ischaemic heart disease or hypertension, is relatively uncommon. In some cases a gross abnormality will be clearly evident at post- mortem but in others, careful microscopic examination is also required. There are important genetic conditions that must be recognised if appropriate advice is to be given to surviving family members.
