Evaluation Models: A review of existing evaluation models and their suitability for use in HIV/AIDS programmes in developing countries

Description

Due to the sensitivity and complexity of sexual behaviour change

interventions, the evaluation of these programmes needs to be carefully planned

and executed in order to show an impact. Existing evaluation models are reviewed

in terms of their adaptability to both HIV/AIDS programmes and their use in

developing countries. It is concluded that models are seldom mentioned in the

literature and that possible explanations are that present models are either

too cumbersome, too complicated or simply not suitable for these type of programmes.

A search for a new type of evaluation model is suggested.
