A 19 year old patient presents for elective tonsillectomy on your anaesthetic list. He gives a history of occasional palpitations, so an ecg is performed in the pre-assessment clinic. Describe this ecg. What is the diagnosis? How can this condition be managed? What are the anaesthetic implications?
Question 3
A 34 year old lady presents having collapsed at work. Her GCS is 5/15 at presentation to A & E and she intubated and ventilated, a cranial CT scan is performed (Figure 3) and she is transferred to ITU.
What is the diagnosis on the CT scan? What is the investigation shown in Figure 4 and what does it show? Describe the immediate management plan on ITU. What options exist for definitive treatment and when might this be considered?
