Description
A 24 year old man was admitted with a 10 day history of fever, sore throat and headache and 2 days of watery diarrhoea and vomiting. A diagnosis of tonsillitis had been made on the first day of his symptoms and he had made some improvement over 3 days on treatment with Penicillin V but then his fever and sore throat had returned. He had previously been well and had not travelled abroad since a trip to Thailand 11 months previously.
