I am pleased to introduce another title in CPD bulletin series. The RCPath CPD scheme is a flexible one designed to accommodate the needs of all our Members (and non member participants).

Reading up to date, high quality, peer reviewed scientific literature is a key component in the way that we keep up to date in medicine and pathology. Combined with self assessment, this provides an effective way of assessing the gaps in our knowledge and doing something about it.

The production of educational packages for self assessment in CPD is a major growth area. We are daily bombarded with offers of printed material, CD ROMs and Internet learning sites. The challenge for those responsible for monitoring CPD schemes, is to ensure that credits are given only for high quality and effective materials. This can only be done through responsible editing and peer review processes. The CPD Bulletin Series has a well deserved reputation for providing high quality up to date material which I am very pleased to be able to endorse for CPD credits.
