Description
A questionnaire based audit was used to examine the utilisation and cleaning routines for the staff, students and PCDs working at the St.David ’s Outreach Dental Centre of Cardiff &Vale NHS Trust. During November/December 2003, seventy-six questionnaires were completed anonymously.
This study found that the mean number of coats available for clinical use ranged from 2-4.5, the majority of white coats were “home laundered”, the washing temperature most commonly used fell below the washing temperature recommended by the BDA and 75% of staff and students were not changing their white coats on a daily basis.
