The last issue featured the launch of the new arrangement with the BGS CME programme. The feedback has been very positive, and there was a great deal of praise for Professor Kenny’s Article on Syncope. This edition opens with a comprehensive review of drug therapies for Parkinson’s disease by Duncan Forsyth, who will be well known to many readers as an expert in the field of Parkinson’s and related disorders. Duncan’s paper brings us right up to date with the prevailing evidence, expert opinion and best practice. He also gives us some useful insights into the future direction of drug research in the management of Parkinson’s.

I am receiving a steady stream of case reports to be considered for publication, many of which are worthy of inclusion. In particular, I have been pleased to see a rise in the number of unique or very rare conditions being offered to this journal. Please continue this trend. The publishers are now pursuing a wider citation base for the Geriatric Medicine CME Journal, so your papers will be even more widely disseminated in the future (current indexing is in Exerpta Medica / Embase). I also like to receive reports of more commonplace cases that can be used as the framework for a mini-review or to illustrate an example of good practice.
