Description
I am pleased to introduce the expanded style of the Clinical Focus Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In a new style and a new spirit the journal will appear quarterly and will be edited by a guest editor. Each member of the newly constructed editorial board will initially edit an issue but my invitation extends to all specialist colleagues who would wish to contribute to the production of the journal.
The new style is that of reviews of important topics in our specialty with emphasis on the practical aspects of service delivery in that particular area. The reviews will also include learning points with corresponding explanations, making it relevant to the learning process of MRCOG Part II candidates. Each topic is supplemented by multiple-choice questions and the answers can be accessed either through the journal’s website or by waiting for the next issue. We hope that the essential elements of the specialty will be covered within four years and then cycle will be re-started.
We shall continue to reserve a space for case reports and practice tips based on infrequent or rare cases and modified operative techniques which may enrich others’ experience. I am in no doubt that the quality of the contributions is enhanced by the comments received from the readership
coupled with responses from the authors and I welcome all your letters.
Finally, I would like to thank all members of the Editorial board for their continued enthusiasm and support in maintaining this worthwhile venture.
