Further to Dr. McMillan’s excellent review of the current treatment of gonococcal infections (CME Bulletin Sexually Transmitted Infections/HIV; Vol 1; No. 2: 31-33) we wish to report a case of gonorrhoea in a man which serves to highlight the occasional difficulties encountered when dealing with infection acquired abroad and caused by a gonococcal strain not readily isolated on selective media.not available in DB
