Description
This issue of the CME Bulletin in Diabetes and Endocrinology marks two important events. Firstly, our two distinguished editors Pierre Bouloux and Phil Harris are stepping down and we have joined as joint editors. We thank them for the previous tireless contributions establishing and developing the CME bulletin.
Secondly this is the first issue to be available on line. As we enter the age of the internet we hope this allows you to read it anywhere you happen to have a free moment, whether in the UK or even abroad at the American Diabetes Association in Orlando or the Endocrine Society meeting in Philadelphia. The technology is not yet there to check it when swimming with Dolphins but we are sure that will come soon enough!
This issue describes various aspects of some common disorders associated with the metabolic syndrome. Syndrome X has become a slightly more “sexy” subject of late and with its own diagnostic code the diagnosis and treatment of it seen to be improving. As you will see from the articles on lipids, diabetes and PCOS there are several important areas to consider with this. We are still interested in submission of related articles / reviews or other useful topics you feel other colleagues would find interesting and if any budding authors are reading this please refer to the guidance for authors at the end of the journal.
